The New Regulations suggested by FIFA's Technical Study Group

FIFA has nine standing committees and it's Development Committee is in charge of the Technical Study Group. This group is responsible for conducting the analysis of all FIFA tournaments from the World Cup to Futsol. It is also responsible for looking into new structural changes for the game and suggesting new rules and regulations. The most controversial among these suggestions had been suggested in the previous year by the Technical Study Group headed by Dutch legend, Marco Van Basten.

He suggested 8 changes to the game to revolutionize it and make it more attractive to the younger generation. But many of these ideas have been termed as rubbish by most of the high profile managers in Europe and around the world. Many of them have criticized Van Basten for introducing rules that have been copied from other sports.

New Regulations suggested by Marco Van Basten
These 5 suggested ideas out of the 8 have been severely condemned.

Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger warned that removing offside rule would toll the death bell for the game as it is one of the most intelligent rules of the game.

Chelsea Boss Antonio Conte stated that orange cards and sin bins were ideas copied from other sports. He added that these ideas are not suitable for Football.

Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp encouraged Van Basten to create a new game with his rules instead of trying to ruin the game for everybody.

These new ideas will have to go through the International Football Association Board(IFAB) which is responsible for making introducing new rules and regulations for the game.
